The Roman Roads of Ribchester
West to Kirkham
There was an important fort at Kirkham, probably built to protect ships landing in the Ribble estuary. From the fort at Ribchester, the road heads west along the track to Parsonage Farm. Note the prominent ridge (or agger) and the ditch either side.
